In the past year, people seeking jobs as well as recruiters felt this major shift. One benefit is that geography is no longer a constraint that opened an abundance of opportunities, namely access to a bigger pool of talent and flexibility.

With that said, interviews are still challenging but fret not as we are here to guide you from attire to tech set up.

Attire

You only get one chance to first impressions so make it count! Before anything, do some research on the culture of your industry and position because it’ll guide you on how to best present yourself.

For instance, in Ritchie Bros, corporate positions require business-formal attire while sales and field positions require business casual attire. Same industry but different roles.

Lastly, don’t forget your pants! In case you need to stand up, make sure that you’re not flashing your briefs but some professional bottoms.

Pro tip: Lighting is crucial! We want to make sure that people can see your beautiful face and attire

Body Language

Body language is crucial as you can show your confidence or nervousness through it. Be sure to intentionally show your enthusiasm and engagement by sitting up straight, smiling, maintaining eye contact with the camera and occasionally using hand gestures.

Pro tip: Nod when the interviewer is asking the question as it shows engagement

Practice, practice, practice

Before anything, research common interview questions and jot down some talking points that you would like to cover then practice with someone or record yourself. When you have something to look back to, it’s easier to critique yourself and improve.

Pro tip: Pay special attention to rambling or going off-topic
